Age 69, of Plum, peacefully, on Friday, December 22, 2023. Beloved husband of 46 years to Judy (Pavlic) Lewandowski; father of Kristen (Steve) Lichius and Michael (Kristen) Lewandowski; grandfather of Ava and Ryan Lichius and Mary, Anna, and baby on the way Lewandowski; brother of Rev. Thomas J. Lewandowski, and the late Anthony Lewandowski; Preceded in death by parents Edmund and Blanche Lewandowski. Dennis was a graduate of Bishop's Latin School and Duquesne University with a Degree in Business Administration. A Senior Partner at Wagner Agency, Dennis worked as an Insurance Broker. When not working, Dennis enjoyed traveling, golfing, shooting sporting clays, as well as attending Pittsburgh sporting events. He was a member of both Churchill Valley and Edgewood Country Clubs and longtime member of the Insurance Club of Pittsburgh of which he served as the 85th president. Additionally, he served as the President of Pennsylvania Surplus Lines Association. As a young man, Dennis was a volunteer fireman for Wilkins Twp., #3 and received his fireman training from Penn State University. A member of both St. Paul Cathedral and Our Lady of Joy Church, Dennis was a lector for many years. Dennis was a warm, well dressed man that could be found with a smile on his face, and taking much joy in being with his children and grandchildren; especially at holidays and celebrations. Christmas Eve won't be the same without his grilled baby lamb chops. He will be greatly missed by many. Friends received,Wednesday and Thursday, 2-4 & 6-8pm at Soxman Funeral Homes, Ltd.,7450 Saltsburg Road (at Universal Road) Penn Hills. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30am, in Our Lady of Joy Church of Holy Family Parish, celebrated by his brother, Rev. Thomas J. Lewandowski. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and to honor Dennis, contributions may be made to CLASS, Community Living and Support Services, 1400 South Braddock Ave. Pgh, PA 15218.
