Following her high school graduation from Curtis High School, Betty took a job as a clerk for Walter J Black Publishing Company. In 1983 she retired from that company as a Senior Vice President.
Betty never married. She died a day after her 73rd birthday and is buried near her parents. Betty was survived by her sister Jane Jones, who passed in 2018 and is buried near her.
