He was born Nov. 22, 1938, in Watseka, Ill., to the late Oliver and Della (Lyons) Perry. Jack was a 1956 graduate of A.J. Kent High School in Kentland. His marriage was to Barbara Louise Bedinger on June 7, 1958.
Jack enjoyed and was good at so many things, but loved golf, music, reading and family. Spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren made him happiest. He was an avid life-long Purdue fan and supporter since graduating from the university. He enjoyed sharing the "best of what life had to offer" with his children and family, whether that be through trips to the most amazing places, music, movies or books. He was a gentle, loving, caring father to his children and would do anything to support them. He also loved his hometown of Kentland and spending time at the Kentland farm he still owned at the time of his death.
Jack worked 40 plus years as a financial executive in the transportation business and lived throughout the United States, with several trips to Europe; making life-long friends and golfing buddies.
Jack is survived by three children, Wendy Perry, Dearborn Heights, Mich., Melanie Perry, Wayne, Mich. and Mason Perry, Commerce Township, Mich.; grandchildren Megan Perry, Madison Perry and Sydney Perry; as well as great-grandchildren Jalen Perry, Mariah Loving, Cortez Loving and Sierra Loving; and nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death, along with his parents, were wife Barbara, the love of his life; his first-born daughter, Tamra Perry; his sister, Fanny Collins; and his brother, William (Bill) Perry.
A memorial service is being planned for late spring in Kentland and interment at the Fairlawn Cemetery.
