CARENCRO ~ Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at a 3:00 p.m. Liturgy of the Word in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Hermina Gautreaux, age 84, who passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Jennings Senior Care Hospital.
Interment will be in St. John Berchmans Cemetery in Cankton. Deacon David Menard will officiate at the services.
Mrs. Gautreaux was a native and lifelong resident of Carencro. A devout Catholic, she was a parishioner of St. John Berchmans Roman Catholic Church in Cankton. Mrs. Gautreaux loved to have a good time. She enjoyed going to the casino, and dancing. Being a mother to her four children was her greatest joy, especially when they would visit her all together. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include two sons, Allen Gautreaux and his wife, Marilyn, and Ronald Gautreaux and his wife, Lynette; two daughters, Marlene Stonicher and Sharlene Sonnier; nine grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, Grady Bearb and his wife, Mildred; one sister, Versa Lee Marcotte; one sister-in-law, Bernita Bearb.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, Earlin J. Gautreaux; her beautiful granddaughter, Katie Elizabeth Gautreaux; four brothers, Lloyd Bearb and his wife, Winnie, Leroy Bearb and his wife, Georgie, Ernest Bearb and his wife, Verley Mae, and Roosevelt Bearb; one sister, Ella Forestier and her husband, Waddy; and one brother-in-law, George Marcotte.
A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home by Barbara Richard.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until service time on Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Gautreaux, Jaron LeBlanc, Matthew Gautreaux, Joseph Gautreaux, Kristie Sonnier, and Angela Touchet. Honorary pallbearers will be Blaze "Trashman" Champagne and Allen Gautreaux.
