ames (Doobie) Trent, age 55, of Rogersville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 8, 2024 after a sudden illness with his family by his side. James was saved at a young age at Cobbs Chapel Missionary Baptist church. He enjoyed watching old western movies and listening to country music.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Teresa) Trent; grandparents, Wright and Mary Lawson Trent, and Dana and Pearl Helton Wilder; parents, Henry (Rass) and Helen Wilder Trent; and stepdaughter, Michele Hunt.

He is survived by stepsons, Dallas Collins and Ethan Murrell; stepdaughter, Lisa Alberty; sister, Lisa Trent; brothers, Dana (Ruby) Trent and Allen Trent; aunt, Fodell Amyx; nephews, Dana Trent and Henry Trent; nieces, Brittney (Erik) Hollis, Tiffany (Clifton) Cook, and Rachel (Willie) Slone; and several stepgrandkids.

Graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm January 13, 2024 in Helton-Wilder Cemetery. The family asks if you plan on attending the graveside service to please meet at the cemetery by 11:45 am. Pallbearers will be family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family.
