Anne (neé Economos) Harris passed away at 85 years old surrounded by her family on July 14th, 2023 at
4:10am and into the presence of our Lord.
Born May 2, 1938 to George and Beatrice (neé Metropoulous) Economos in Lowell, Massachusetts, Anne
grew up like any happy New Englander - obsessed with the Cape, hating the snow, and loving her family and
community. While Anne's youth was filled with travels and adventures, she finally settled in her forever home
in Los Angeles, CA in 1968.
Anne was everything you would expect a loving Grandmother to be. She cared deeply for her family, had
everyone's best interests at heart, kept us fed, and never shied away from protecting us when necessary - even
if it meant causing a little scene. She loved us, and the indelible mark she left on our lives is truly that -
permanent impression.
Anne was strong-willed and stubborn, truly the last of the bunch that was cut from such a stronger and
different cloth. Her enormous heart and quirky sense of humor (and mouth of a sailor!) made her a truly
unforgettable human being - an irreplaceable mark on anyone who crossed paths with her. In the highs, but
especially in the lows, Anne was generous, caring, and loyal. All of that coupled with an immense wealth of
knowledge (both book and life) meant that she could fix anything: from a bad dinner to a broken heart.
She had a spirit for adventure and enjoyed any excuse for a trip. From scenic rides to the beach for clam strips
& sunshine or a weekend in Las Vegas for luck & leisure, Anne was game for it all. She was the life of her own
party and kept the soundtrack to her life with her at every turn. From finding new favorites in the charts now
to singing the hits of her youth, there wasn't a tune she couldn't dance to! In her quiet moments she loved the
pleasure of a good book or keeping her brain sharp with word searches.
She will be remembered for all of the heart she shared with us. She carried herself with such dignity, strength,
and perseverance, so much so, that those attributes easily trickled down to the family members she has left
behind. Family members are often irreplaceable, but Anne was truly one-of-a-kind.
Anne is survived by her daughter Christine; Granddaughters Angie (Alfred), Amber (Avedis) and Abby. She is
also survived by her younger brother, Michael; Our New England family and numerous friends who have
become family on this coast. Anne is preceded in death by her Mother, Father and her brother Stephen, or as
he was lovingly known by, Joe.
In typical Anne fashion, she would be turned off by any boisterous pomp-and-circumstance, but graveside
services will be held on July 26, 2023 11:15am at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills. There will be no calling hours.
She was an East Coast girl through & through but planted her roots firmly in Hollywood, in the West, that she
grew to love so dearly. We love you and may your memory be eternal.
I love you Ma.
