BAXTER, ALBERT 90, died April 21, 2008 at Crestwood Nursing Home, Warren. He was the husband of Dorothea E. (Malone) Baxter, whom he married in 1940. Born in Smithfield, he was a son of the late Wilkinson and Annie M. (Darnbrough) Baxter. He had lived in Johnston until 2005.





Albert worked as a carpenter at RI Hospital from 1954 to 1960. He then worked at Worcester Textile for ten years, retiring in 1970. He was a member of the Graniteville Baptist Church and the Merrymakers Square Dance Club for 40 years. He was affectionately known as 'Peep' to his grandchildren.





Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Gayle M. Nunes of Warren and Betsy J. Nield of Marco Island, FL and Narragansett, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a sister, Edna Leone of Greenville. He was brother of the late William, Walter, and Fred Baxter, Irene White, and Mary Lowell.






His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 26 at 11 am in the ROBBINS FUNERAL HOME, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Calling hours Friday 6-8 pm.
Burial in Acotes Hill Cemetery, Chepachet.
