AYRES, Douglas
Passed away peacefully with family by his side at Hospice Simcoe on January 15th, 2024 at the age of 93. Beloved husband and best friend of Sharon for 57 years. Honoured father of their four children; Shelley Clark (Murray), Wendy McLaughlin (Mike), Rob Ayres (Christine), and Jeff Ayres (Leeann). Cherished grandpa to their 9 children and great grandpa to 12.
Also dear father of Debbie Honey (the late Gord), and Doug Ayres (Anna),
grandfather to their 2 children and great grandpa to 3.
Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie
on Sunday, January 28th, 2024 from 12:30 PM until the time of service in the Chapel at 2 PM.
Following the service, guests are invited to remain for a reception luncheon in the Lounge.
Doug was a cook at the Queen's Hotel then a mailman till eyes gave out.
HE WAS LEGALLY BLIND.
Doug was a "Special pallbearer" (Flowers) at my wife's funeral. (Betty)
