She was born on June 12, 1939, in Mankato Minnesota, to the late Warren and Esther Melvin.
Ione was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who held steadfast to traditional values and principles.
Ione received her education at Mankato High School and later pursued higher education at the U of M. She was a diligent and hardworking individual who dedicated several years of her life to her career as a Credit Manager at Myers Printing. She was also proficient in ASL.
In her leisure time, Ione enjoyed baking, quilting, knitting, going to the casinos, traveling, hosting family gatherings and attending church. She found solace in the comforting routines of these activities, and they brought her joy and fulfillment. Ione also had a great appreciation for the game of baseball and could often be found cheering on the Minnesota Twins.
She will be deeply missed by her son, Terry (Cindy) Gray; her granddaughter, Sarah (Thomas); her grandsons, Richard (Gladys) and Daniel (Tiffany); and her great-grandchildren, Breanne, Hersheys, Tommy and Brooke. Ione is also survived by her sister, Irene (Dennis) Moore, and her brother, Jerry (Mary Ann) Melvin and many loving family and friends.
Ione was preceded in death by her sons, Daniel and Rick Gray, her husband, Dale, and her siblings, Darlene, Warren, Richard, and Janice.
Ione leaves behind a legacy of tradition, family values, and hard work. Her loved ones will remember her as a devoted and caring individual who lived her life with integrity and a deep sense of faith. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.
