February 19, 1930 ~ January 15, 2023
Velma Jean Hobbs, age 92, of McMinnville, TN went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at her residence after an extended illness.
She was born February 19, 1930 in McMinnville, TN, was a homemaker, retired factory worker after 16 years of service with Century Electric, and also worked for Kroger and Meals on Wheels where she loved to serve and help with her great smile. She always worked in the community helping others and just being the loving and caring person she was. She would spend a lot of her time visiting others in the nursing home and the hospital. Heaven is a lot sweeter because she is there with the love of her life, her husband, Claudine.

Survivors include her children, Debbie Hobbs of McMinnville, TN, Brenda Kaye Smith and husband, David of Indianapolis, IN, and Martha Huffaker of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Stephanie Todd Rutledge, Chad David Smith, Jr., and wife, Katie, Steven Smith and wife, Michanda, Jennifer Smith Silver and husband, Larry, Jessica Smith Wicker and husband, Adam, and Haleigh Huffaker Wheatley and husband, Thomas; five great- grandchildren; two sisters, Alda "Tooter" Bandy and husband, Don of McMinnville, TN, and Elizabeth "Sene" Winningham of McMinnville, TN; brother, L.
