Shirley was born September 30, 1938, in East Chicago, IN. She married Francis Tretter on May 23, 1957. Together they had 4 children before they divorced in 1966. She raised her kids alone until 1973 when she met the love of her life, Rudolph Fusko and married him 2 weeks later. Shirley and Rudy were proud owners of Aunt Shirley's Spices which gave them the opportunity to meet people from all over the world. Shirley loved to travel and meet new people. She never met a stranger. Shirley and Rudy retired in 2000.

Shirley was best known for her infectious smile and laugh, always positive attitude, and giving the best hugs. She loved Bingo and played every Thursday at the Munster Community Center. She proudly called herself a "Keenager." She could be found watching Jeopardy every day at 3:30 with a glass of red wine and if you called her at that time, you were in trouble. She was an avid Elvis and Cubs fan. She was an active member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Hammond, IN.

Shirley was a beloved mom, grandma, great-grandma, great-great grandma, sister, aunt, and friend who touched the lives of everyone she came in contact with and she will be truly missed.

We want to thank her second family at Miller's Merry Manor in Portage for the love and care you showed Shirley. She was happy there because of all the love the staff showed her and for that we are forever grateful. We would also like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice for their exceptional care these last few months.
