Hazel Delores Rupp
March 1, 1934 ~ January 28, 2024
89 Years Old

Hazel Delores Rupp, 89, passed from this life peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, January 28, 2024. She was the dedicated and loving wife of the late George E. Rupp, whom she met at a church picnic at the age of 15. Five years later, they were married and began traveling across the United States and abroad for his work in the US Air Force. They were married for 47 years.

She graduated from New Windsor High School in 1953. She was a devoted mother and homemaker with a fierce work ethic. When her children were old enough, she started work in the public-school kitchens. She remained in this for over 36 years because she enjoyed working and cooking so much. Her cooking is remembered throughout the Carroll County public schools as some of the best cuisine the children and staff ever tasted.

She is remembered as a hard worker, a loving matriarch, and a strong independent soul, who never backed down from a challenge. When asked how she lived so long she would reply … "Never stop going, you've just got to keep on moving". Whenever asked how she was doing she would always reply with "I'M STILL KICKING HIGH" as her face lit up!

Hazel was predeceased by her husband, George E. Rupp, who died August 17, 2001. She is survived by her four children; Brad Rupp (Debbie) of Finksburg, Brian Rupp (Robin) of Hanover, PA, devoted daughter Bonnie and Bill "Billy Boy" Thompson of Taneytown and Bruce Rupp of Finksburg. In addition, she is survived by her five grandchildren; Jennifer Show, Stacy Tawney (Alan), Heather McCrory (Patrick), Jessica Reiblich (Matt) and Allison Baublitz (Brian). She also has 7 great-grandchildren; Emily, Jacob, Cameron, Peyton, Ethan, Lindsay, and Madison, plus Baby Baublitz on the way.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M and 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Fletcher Funeral and Cremation Services, 254 East Main St, Westminster, MD 21157. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Dave Meador officiating.

Interment will be at Meadow Branch Cemetery.
