"Jean passed away November 12, 2018, at age 90 with family by her side. She was born to Lonie and Bethel Farmer on May 29, 1928, in Santa Paula, CA. She moved to Goodson, MO, as a child and grew up on a farm with six siblings. In 1950 she moved to Kansas City and met and married the love of her life, Earl Pearce. They had four children and a great life until Earl died unexpectedly at age 44. She worked at Penney's as a catalog supervisor until her retirement. Jean enjoyed sewing, doing alterations for others, crocheting (making over 100 baby blankets to give away) and cross-stitching pictures. Her collection of Emmett Kelly stitched pictures is stunning. She was the best mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a great cook and sports fan, especially the St Louis Cardinals.

She was preceded in death by her husband and son, Jim Pearce. She is survived by two daughters, Patty (Rick) Orrick and Debbie O'Shea; a son, Dan (Lori) Pearce; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Geraldine and Kay; and a brother, L. J." The Kansas City Star, November 18, 2018
