Miguel Urrea, a loving father, dedicated employee, and cherished friend, passed away on January 8, 2024, in Albuquerque, NM.
Miguel was born on February 4, 1940, in Albuquerque, NM to parents, Miguel Urrea Sr. and Rose Martínez Urrea.
Miguel was a hardworking individual who retired from Roadway Trucking Co. after dedicating over 25 years of his life to the company. His commitment and work ethic were truly commendable, and he made a lasting impact during his time there.
As a young man, Miguel proudly served in the United States Navy and was stationed in the Philippines. His service to his country was an honorable reflection of his patriotism and willingness to sacrifice for others.
Outside of his professional life, Miguel had a multitude of interests that brought joy and fulfillment to his days. Miguel enjoyed spending time in nature, particularly fishing in serene lakes and camping under starlit skies. Traveling was also a passion of Miguel's, as he enjoyed exploring new places and immersing himself in different cultures.
One of Miguel's proudest accomplishments was being a long-time member of the Sandoval County Sheriff's Posse. Through this affiliation, he found a sense of community and shared purpose with fellow passionate individuals who were dedicated to serving their local area.
Miguel had an unwavering love for his family.
Miguel is survived by his daughters, Michele Urrea Odom and her husband, Lee and Angela Urrea Paboucek and her husband, Leon, granddaughters, Randi Solano, Codi Odom and her husband, Kyle, Lindsey Paboucek and her fiancée, Sophie, Alexandria Paboucek, Lillian Paboucek and Genevieve Paboucek, along with grandsons, Brandon Paboucek and his wife, Ashley, Tyler Paboucek, Vincent Paboucek and Sabastian Paboucek,, great-grandchildren, Izaac Odom, Rozlyn Odom, Emmett Paboucek and Kynlie Paboucek who brought immeasurable joy to his life.
Miguel's siblings, Ester Duncan, Barbara Montoya, David Urrea and Lorraine Lovato and her husband, Richard were treasured members of his family. The love and support they shared with Miguel throughout the years cultivated unbreakable bonds that will be cherished forever.
In addition to his immediate family, Miguel leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
His warmth and kindness touched the lives of all those who knew him.
Miguel was preceded in death by his loving parents, Miguel Urrea Sr. and Rose Martínez Urrea, along with sisters, Patsy Baldonado, Rosemary Carrillo and Frances Griffin.
Services to celebrate Miguel's life will be held on February 8, 2024. The Celebration of Life event will take place at Alameda Mortuary in northwest Albuquerque, NM, located at 9420 Fourth St. The ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. and conclude at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be on Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Santa Fé National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe St., Santa Fé, NM. Family and friends are invited to attend and pay their respects to a remarkable individual who made a profound impact on their lives.
Miguel Urrea will forever be remembered as a loving father, devoted employee, dedicated supporter of his community and an individual who cherished the simple pleasures in life.
Miguel leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience and determination that will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
