Colonel Edward Ashton was implicated in a plot against Oliver Cromwell (The Lord Proctor).

He was tried along with six others who conspired with him, and found guilty

He was hanged, drawn and quartered in Tower Street, London. Four other conspirators were also hanged, drawn and quartered


Colonel Aston was buried in the Churchyard on 8 July 1658
