Louisa was the daughter of James Cooper and Mary Wheawall. She married Bedson Eardley on 16 February 1852 in Burslem, Staffordshire, England. The immigrated to the U.S. aboard the ship Enoch Train in 1856 and were in the Daniel McArthur Handcart Company, arriving in Salt Lake Valley on 26 Sep 1856. Louisa never had children, but she and Benson apparently adopted a boy named Frederick. It is not known what happened to Fred.
