Susan Jones Griffin, 58, died Monday, February 14, 2022. Services will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Rooks Funeral Home, 109 West White Road in Byron with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM, followed by funeral service at 12 Noon. Pastor Jerry Walls will officiate.
Born in Fort Valley, Susan had worked at Nu Way of Fort Valley and more recently at The Cotton Gin Cafe in Reynolds. She also served as a substitute teacher with the Taylor County School System for many years. She had a welcome smile for everyone that made you feel comfortable. She loved being with her family, fishing and fish frys, but her favorite times were spent with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons, Robert Griffin (Erica Wainwright) and Russell Griffin (Paige Johnson); grandchildren, Ryder, Ryleigh, and Reed; her mother, Jeanette Willingham Jones; sisters and brothers, Barbara and Marion Sullivan of Perry, Ruby and Jimmy Holt of Colquitt, Ken and Melinda Jones of Byron, Jimmy and Teresa Jones of Byron, and Cindy and Tony Dykes of Byron; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Claude Edward Griffin, and her father, Bobby Lewis Jones.
