Ada Smith of Margate, passed away peacefully at home, with her family, on April 22, 2008. Born in Old Forge, PA she was formerly a resident of Atlantic City (Chelsea Heights) before moving to Margate over 30 years ago. Ada retired in 1991 after working for many years as a seamstress at both the Resorts and Bally's Casinos. She was an artist at making clothing, as well as being an excellent cook, specializing in Italian cuisine. Ada was blessed with a large and loving family and she is survived by her sister, Vera Smith of Margate; her daughters, Dr. Theresa McReynolds and Roberta Castorani of Galloway; niece Donna (Smith) Tappan of Mt. Laurel; sons, Joe and Greg Smith of Tucson, AZ; seven grandchildren: Cassandra (Downey) Shelhorn of Galloway; Dennis McReynolds, Jr. of Egg Harbor City; Shannon (McReynolds) Rua of Atlantic City; Adam Swarthout of Sultan, WA; Brian Smith of GA; Lauren Smith of Tucson, AZ and Nathan Smith; as well as 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Blessed Sacrament Church, Margate where friends and family may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing.
