Wife of Henry Bauman (son of John, native of Germany).
Apparently a baby by the name of John B. Bauman was buried on top of Lizzie, Sept 15, 1893. It is unclear why they would name a baby John after they already had a son named John Cleveland.
Headstone shows her death date 1894. Death date of May 7, 1893 was found by genealogists, Robert McWilliams, in a collection of Death Notices in Nashville Newspapers 1855-1907.
In sending for the death record on Lizzie Bauman, I received the following from TN State Archives:
1893 -May 2- Bauman Lizzie, age 31 (born about 1862), female, white, married, street of residence: Madison, cause of death: Puerperal Seticaemia, Dr. M. D. L. Jordan, buried Mt Calvary
It is highly unlikely that 2 Lizzie Bauman's died in Nashville the same week approximately the same age.
I believe that a mistake was made in the location of burial.
Our Lizzie Bauman, was born 1869 (per headstone). The cemetery record shows burial May 4, 1893 in 2 locations on their records, although the headstone shows 1894. The cemetery records show one John B. Bauman was buried with her Sept. 15, 1893. He was possibly buried in with her or on top of her. I believe that Lizzie, buried at Mt. Olivet is one and the same as the first Lizzie. I believe she gave birth to a son, John B. Bauman, and developed the above complications and died from them mostly from lack of antibiotics. Then in the same year, Sept 15 of 1893, the baby died and was buried with his mom.
What I don't understand is that their other son, John Cleveland Bauman was born in 1889. Why would they name 2 sons "John".
