Adeline "Addie" May Hill was the daughter of Green Berry Hill (1831-1903) and Mollie Frances White (1874-1921). The U.S. Federal Census shows that she was the eldest of three children, her siblings being William Henry Hill (b.1898) and Levy Hill (b.1902).

Records show that she lived in Marengo, Alabama bet. 1897-1910, mainly in the Shiloh area.

Adeline married Marion Colie Pope on 16 Mar 1913 in Marengo, Alabama.

In 1920, Adeline and Marion were both living in Phenix City, Lee, Alabama. They were both empoyed as weavers at a cotton mill located in Phenix City, Lee, Alabama.

In 1921 they were living in Columbus, Muscogee, Georgia. In 1923 they were living in Montgomery, Alabama, and in 1928 they were once again living in Columbus, Muscogee, Georgia.

Adeline died on 04 Jan 1928 at the young age of 30 years and was laid to rest beside her mother, Mollie Frances White.
