Actress, Model. She is best remembered for her role as Helen in the James Bond film, "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" (1969). Born Julie Dzuli in Hoyland, Norway, she began her career as a model during the 1960s and soon went onto become Miss Norway. She was also a Miss Universe contestant in 1962, and a Penthouse Pet for the popular men's magazine. In 1967, she moved to England as an au pair to improve her English, and also studied at a language school. Turning to acting that same year Ege made her film debut in the low budget Norwegian film, "The Sky And The Ocean." Around this time she also began appearing in several horror films for the famous Hammer Film Studios headed by Sir James Carreras, and home to such personalities as Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. Named "The New Sex Symbol of the 1970s" by Carreras, her credits for the studio include, "Creatures The World Forgot" (1971), and "The Legend Of The 7 Golden Vampires" (1974). Her other notable screen credits include, "Robbery" (1967), "Every Home Should Have One" (1970), "Up Pompeii" (1971), "The Magnificent Seven Deadly Sins" (1971), "Go For A Take" (1972), "The Final Programme" (1973), "Not Now Darling" (1973), "Craze" (1974), "Percy's Progress" (1974), "Kanarifuglen" (1973), "The Mutations" (1974), and "The Amorous Milkman" (1975). She also appeared on several television talk shows and programs, and returned to modeling becoming a successful pin-up star. Married twice and divorced twice, she was the mother of two daughters. In 1986, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and underwent treatment. Despite the cancer she continued to work. In 1995, she was honored by the city of Oslo with a film festival at the Rockefeller Cinema. Sadly in 2002 while working as a nurse, she was diagnosed with lung cancer. She passed away at home in Oslo.
