Barton - EDWARD LANCASTER GUESS, JR., 85, departed this life to be with his Lord and Savior, April 29, 2008. He retired from City of Memphis Board of Education; was a member of LaBelle Haven Baptist Church for over 50 years; was a WWII Army Veteran who was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star; and a Mason. Mr. Guess was the widow of the late, Marie Kinslow Guess. He is survived by two daughters, Charlene (Loyd) Yarbrough and Janice "Sherry" (Dwayne) Ivie; a sister, Margaret Kaletta; three brothers, Robert Guess, Joe Guess, Don Guess; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 1 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home and service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 2 at LaBelle Haven Baptist Church with burial following in Memory Hill Gardens.
