Edward Atchison, son of John and Emma Kinney Atchison, was born near Overbrook, Kans., August 15, 1885, and died at Topeka, Kans., November 3, 1948, at the age of 63 years, 2 months, and 19 days.

He was married to Carrie Vincent of Overbrook, June 5, 1912. They made their home on a farm two miles west of Overbrook where they lived until 1936 when they moved to Topeka.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Lee E Atchison of Topeka, a daughter Mrs Joseph Hanlon of Ft. Scott, a granddaughter, Virginia Lee Atchison of Topeka; four sisters, Mrs Daisy Herlan, Mrs Myrtle Israel, Mrs Pearl O'Bryhim of Overbrook; Miss Ruth Atchison of Topeka, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service was held Saturday afternoon at the Overbrook Methodist Church, with the pastor, Rev Gene Taylor officiating. Music was duet numbers by Mrs Joe Coffman and Mrs Eva Platt of Topeka, with Mrs Nelle Syllivan, pianist.

John Miller, Del Greenfield, Russell Baker, Claude Radcliff, Leslie Bulmer, and Charles Butterfield were casket bearers and interment was in Overbrook cemetery.
