When William Allsop Sr was born in 1660 in New England, although one source cites Carsington, Derbyshire, England, United Kingdom and says that his father, George Alsop, was 29 and his mother, Dorothy Bentley, was 25.
William married Mary East in 1680, in Henrico, Virginia, British Colonial America. They were the parents of at least 7 children, including Benjamin Alsop, Joseph Alsup, Thomas Alsup, William Alsop Jr, John Alsup and Robert Alsup.
He died about 1730, in Hanover, Virginia, British Colonial America, at the age of 71. (Another source says 1729)
