Samuel R. Snyder, 69, of 1020 Newman street, Indianapolis, a former Columbus resident, died today at Community hospital at Indianapolis. Mr. Snyder had been in ill health for two years and hospitalized for three weeks.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Reed funeral home by the Rev. Charles W. Taylor. Persons may call after 1 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook cemetery.
Mr. Snyder was born in Columbus on Jan. 11, 1901, the son of Talbot and Catherine Dahn Snyder. While living in Columbus Mr. Snyder was an employe of the Mooney tannery. He moved to Indianapolis 45 years ago and was an employe of the Pennsylvania railroad for 20 years. He retired in 1966 from the Kroger Baking company.
Survivors include a son, Harry Snyder of Indianapolis; a brother Herbert Snyder of Route 8; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Kaufman of Lafayette, Mrs. Nan Wilbur of 131 Pence Calla, Mrs. Evelyn Norris of Franklin, Ohio, and Mrs. Lela Palmer of 132 South Beatty street; and five grandchildren.
