Little is known about Jesse Mendenhall's wife. The Mendenhall's were staunch Quaker's that lived in Rowan County ( now Guilford Co.) North Carolina. When Jesse chose to marry contrary to Quaker rules and tradition, he was eventually disowned. Quaker records make note of his unnaccepted behavior, yet never mention the name of the woman he married. Their first child Sarah Ann was born in 1776, so it is believed that they married in 1775, in or near Guilford, County, PA.

Notes from Debra L. Caldwell:

Jesse's will and remaining probate papers did not survive the burning of the Burke County courthouse by the Union soldiers in 1865. There was one "lone probate paper" that survived. Debra located it at the North Carolina State Archives. Jesse Mendenhall's final estate sale appears to have taken place in 1833. The maiden name of Jesse's wife is still unknown. An index card, however, revealed that Jesse left various unnamed items to "Ann Mendenall." As descendents, we are assuming that Ann Mendenall was his wife. Thus we are finally putting the first name Ann, to Jesse's wife. This is only an assumption. Ann Mendenall does not appear in the 1840 census, so it's believed she died between 1833-1839.
