Carlton Firestone, age 69, died Sunday, September 20, 1992, in Lutheran
Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was a resident of Edon. He had been
ill for two years and hospitalized since August 27, 1992.
Mr. Firestone was born May 15, 1923 in Northwest Township of Williams County
the son of Alton A. and Effie (Johnson) Firestone. He married Berneda
Meyers on December 26, 1942 in Columbia and she survives.
Mr. Firestone was a WW II Navy veteran and had retired from Robinair Mfg. in
1987. He also was a farmer. He also was a member of the Northwest Grange.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. William A. (Kathy) Callaway Jr. and Mrs.
Larry G. (Sue) Lloyd, both of Edon; one son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and
Barb Firestone of Edon; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also
surviving is a sister, Mrs. Kathryn Harmes of Bryan.
Services will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 1992 at 11:00 am at the
Kundard-Krill Funeral Home in Edon with Rev. Harold Dorsey officiating.
Visitation will be at the funeral home after 2:00 pm Tuesday. Burial will
be in the Columbia Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the charity of the
donor's choice.
