M. Kathryn Harmes, 84, of Bryan and a longtime former Edon area resident,died Saturday evening, Oct. 19, 2002, at Hillside Heritage Nursing Home near Bryan, following a lingering illness. Born Oct. 2, 1918, in Northwest Township, Williams County, she had been an
Edon area resident until she and her husband relocated to Bryan in 1983. On March 26, 1942, she was mararied to Arthur Harmes at Edon and he preceded her in death on March 15, 1984. A homemaker, she was a 1936 graduate of Edon High School and was a member of the Bryan Senior Citizens. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Stanley (Deloris) Kornrumpf of Bryan; two granddaughters, Mrs. Dennis (Diana) Smith of Monroe, Mich., and Rhonda Kornrumpf of Bryan; and a great-grandson, Jacob Beevers of Bryan. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Carlton Firestone.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Reverend Eric Dailey to officiate. Burial will be in Edon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
