He was born Jan. 19, 1905 in Russia and came to the United States with his family at the age of two. He attended school at Bozeman, Mont., moving to Jerome in 1922. He married Minnie Tripple Oct. 17, 1926, at Eden.
Surviving are his wife of Eden; two sons, Harold Steinmetz of Jerome, and Charles Steinmetz of Eden; a daughter, Mrs. John (Dorothy) Shobe of Blackfoot; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Henry Steinmetz of Hazelton; and two sisters, Catherine Wolters of Coeur d'Alene and Molly Wolters of Hazelton. A sister and a brother preceded him in death.
Graveside services were Monday in Sunset Memorial Park. The family suggests memorials to the arthritis foundation, which may be left at White Mortuary, or mailed to Dick Walter, 6003 Overland Road, Boise, Id. 83705.
