Husband of Katie McCabe, Father of Bridgette, Christy Thomas, Syd, Sarah, Greg, Mary and Catherine. My Great Grandfather. James was a Blacksmith working in the Quarries of Kiama, Bombo and Shellharbour and then onto his own Blacksmith Shop which at the time was the only one in Shellharbour, and he remained a member of the Blacksmith's Society of Australia up until his death. He was a keen Fisherman often spotted off the rocks at Bass Point, and it's said he would never come home empty handed. Also involved with the local gun club and quite the enthusiest. He was a Devout Irish Catholic and deeply involved with the Hibernian Society.
