Born in Port Republic, VA, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Julia A. Shifflet Raynes and the wife of the late Joseph R. Brown, who died in 1980.
Edie was an inspector for the Bearing Company of America.
She was a member of the auxiliary of the Lancaster VFW.
Edie enjoyed crossword puzzles, bingo, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great-great granddaughter.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Gebhard, Lancaster, Vickie, wife of Donald Rebman, Holtwood, two sons, Robert Stipe and Barry, husband of Cindy Brown, all of Lancaster, a sister, Betty, wife of Charles Smith, Grottoes, VA, seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Edie's Life Celebration service at the Funeral Home of Fred F. Groff, Inc., 234 W. Orange St., Lancaster, PA, on Thursday at 10:00 AM. Interment in Millers-ville Mennonite Cemetery. Friends may call at Groff's on Thursday from 9:00 AM until time of service. Please omit flowers.
