Wilbert J. Haarmann, 82, of Effingham died at 1:00 a.m Friday, May 9, 2008, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with burial at St. Anthony Cemetary, Effingham. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham, with a parish wake service at 6 p.m. and Knights of Columbus rosary with Fourth Degree services at 7p.m. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Mr. Haarmann was born June 12, 1925, the son of William and Anna (Unkraut) Haarmann. He married Agnes A. Vahling October 11,1952.

He first worked as a farmer and later went to work at World Color Press in Effingham. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Effingham Knights of Columbus Council 665 and Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Hall of Fame.

Surviviors include his wife; son, Donald of Belleville; two sisters, Marie Harner of Chicago and Mildred Tegeler of Effingham He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Fred.
