A soldier with Kit Carson in the Indian Wars
Died pre-1898

There are two Benjamin Stevens listed at Fairview. Research is being done to see which Benjamin had the wreath laid on his grave in 1899 by the Woman's Relief Corp. They laid wreaths on soldier's graves which this Benjamin is reported to have been.
The other Benjamin Stevens was a Judge and died in 1879. He may or may not be buried in Fairview. There was another cemetery where many of the city's deceased were buried. That cemetery was not being used when Fairview was established.
