He returned as a PFC via Hoboken on 19 APRIL 1919 aboard the America, still assigned to Company E, 308th Infantry and was discharged 09 MAY 1919. While with the Lost Battalion he received a gun shot wound to the left side. He may have received a hand wound during the company's time on the Vesle.
