Mr. Everette McDaniel was born in Palmetto, GA and was the sixth of nine children born to James Collier McDaniel and Frances (Johnson) McDaniel. All preceded him in death.

At an early age, the family moved from Georgia to Ashville, NC where Everette was raised and received his early education from the Asheville Public School system. When the family relocated to Fountain Inn, SC he accepted Christ and was baptized at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

In 1938, Everette's brother introduced him to Katherine Garrett and he married the love of this life on June 21, 1942. They were married for 65 years!

A World War II veteran, Everette served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal. In 1946, Everette and his wife moved to Detroit, MI where he promptly affiliated with Bibleway Temple prior to joining the historic Second Baptist Church of Detroit. In 1982 he moved his membership to the Renaissance Baptist Church.

"Mack", as he was affectionately known, retired from the Chrysler Corporation after 30 years of service in 1977. He enjoyed sports and card games, but his passion was golf. Mack was an accomplished golfer, bringing home many trophies, monetary gifts and prizes. He won or placed in almost every tournament he participated in, and enjoyed sharing his love of the game with anyone who showed an interest. After he retired, his favorite pastime was fishing. He also loved to travel, and his beloved wife was always by his side.

Everette and his wife Katherine did not have any natural born children, but did have 2 goddaughters whom they loved as if they were their own children. His wife Katherine made her transition exactly 5 months after burying her husband.
