Mary "Polly" Sapp was the daughter of John George Sapp and Christina Elizabeth Textor of Danville, Knox County, Ohio.

Polly married Jacob Meyers and they had four children: Elizabeth, Mary Ann, Sallie, and John Meyers.

Mary's Grave Marker: See the 18th name down on right Records of the cemetery prepared by J. Faber Wildasen (October, 1982) tell us something of the two large granite memorials placed in the "Old Cemetery" section north of the sanctuary.

In late 1980 about 50 old gravestones were in such poor condition that repair or mending was impractical. A local monument firm proposed that the large memorials be erected so that the names of those buried would not be lost to history. This plan was adopted, although some of the inscribed names were mis-spelled as the broken stones were often damaged beyond the point of being legible.

Husband: Many of the old tombstones are unreadable. Her spouse, Jacob (born in 1777 in Allegany Co., Maryland), is likely one of them or else his gravesite is simply unmarked. In any case he is assumed to be buried by Mary in the Saint John's Lutheran Cemetery.
