Donald L Damcott, 68, of Sherman, died Tuesday (April 1, 1986) in Corry Memorial Hospital, Corry, Pa. He was born June 20, 1917, in Clymer, a son of Arvin and Minnie Legters Damcott. Damcott was a retired employee of Norvel Reed and Son Farm Supply Co, Sherman, and had been the caretaker of North Haven Apartments. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Sherman, and a US Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn King Damcott of Sherman, whom he married Jan 21, 1943; six sons: Lester, Myron, Stuart, Kenneth, Byron and David Damcott; three daughters: Kathryn Hitchcock, Margaret Coburn and Donna Stratton; 26 grandchildren; four brothers: Marion, Norman, Maynard and Wilfred Damcott and a sister, Jeanette Evans. He was preceded in death by a brother, Orville Damcott, in 1975. Burial will be in Sherman Valley Cemetery.
