VERNON J. BENGE
BLOOMFIELD - Vernon J. Benge, 61 former Davis County resident, died at St. Joseph Hospital in Wichita, Kan., Friday at 8:20 p.m. Mr. Benge had been a welder with the Cessna Aircraft Co. and had lived in Wichita for 12 years. He was born Jan. 5, 1903 in Davis County, the son of John E. and Charlotte Roush Benge. He was married in Floris to Wilda Dommer Feb. 15, 1923. She survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Beverly Caylor of Wichita; one sister, Mrs. Grace Douglas of Davenport and two brothers, Thomas and Howard Benge, both of Davenport. Preceding him in death were four daughters, three brothers and two sisters. The funeral was this afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at the Priester Funeral Chapel in Bloomfield. The Rev. Eldon Pals of the First Baptist Church officiated. Burial was in Ottumwa Cemetery.
