George and Mary owned a a candy store at one time. Mary could dip chocolates because she had cold hands. (note from Dianne- I think that is related to her thyroid disease.)
This candy store was at 24th and North Avenue.
Mary died of a toxic goiter/ Graves Disease.
Her youngest daughter, Virginia (my mother), was only nine years old when Mary died. I know that she mourned her mother for the rest of her life.
