Born June 5, 1884 in Douglas Township, she was the daughter of Henry and Anna Haase Biermann. She was baptized in St. John's Evangelical Church at Siegel and was confirmed there on April 3, 1898.
She married William Bergmann May 1, 1903 at St. John's Lutheran Church northwest of Tripoli. The couple farmed in Douglas Township until 1920 when they moved to Tripoli. Mr. Bergmann died Aug. 11, 1945.
Mrs. Bergmann continued to make her home in Tripoli until a year ago when she came to Waverly to live with her sister, Mrs. Anna Hartman. Mrs. Bergmann had been in the convalescent home only a short time.
Survivors are her sister, Mrs. Hartman; two brothers, William Biermann, Tripoli and Otto Biermann, West Union. She was preceded in death by her husband, one sister and three brothers.
A family prayer service was held followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. at St. Peter's Evangelical and Reformed Church. Burial was in church cemetery.
