Two Red Wing residents lived to see 1928 depart and 1929 enter, but death allowed them to live only a few minutes after the new year was born.

Michael Siebe, 78, retired farmer, died at his home on Sturtevant Street and Charles Peterson, 80, passed away in a local hospital shortly after midnight.

Mr. Siebe, who was ill only a short time, was born in Hanover, Germany in 1850, coming to this country in 1869. He became a farmer in Belvidere, and in 1876 he was married to Miss Mary Fritz. In 1923 he sold his farm and moved to this city.

He is survived by his widow and five children, Mrs. Fred Kahl, Bellechester, Bernard Siebe, Hey Creek, and Marion, Sarah and Fred at home. There are also five grandchildren.

He was affiliated with the German Methodist church at Belvidere. Two years ago he and his wife celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
