ENTIAT _ Mavis Louise (Bonwell) Long, 74, of Entiat, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1993, in Central Washington Hospital.

She was born May 24, 1919, to Frances and Lydia (Hair) Bonwell at Withrow. She spent her early childhood at Tonasket and Chelan, and later moved to Entiat. She attended school at Chelan and Entiat.

She married Albert ''Shorty'' Long on Jan. 29, 1938, at Wenatchee. They had lived in the Entiat Valley since that time. Mrs. Long worked in the fruit industry, and with her husband delivered the mail up the Entiat Valley for 15 years.

She was a member of the Entiat Historical Society.

She is survived by her husband of the home; two sons, Wayne of Everson and Richard of Idleyld Park, Ore.; four daughters, Peggy Whitmore of Entiat, Judy Tudor of Pleasanton, Calif., Leanne Mottl of Elma and Debbie McGreevy of Lynden; two brothers; four sisters; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters and three grandchildren.
