Houston Police Officer Floyd Taylor DeLoach, 28, passed away Wednesday, June 30, 1965.

He was shot and killed IN THE LINE OF DUTY as a Houston Police Officer. He was born on October 20, 1936.

Officer Floyd T. Deloach was fatally shot in the parking lot of North Shepard Bowling Lanes in Houston, Texas, when he confronted a suspect wanted for a robbery that had occured in Abilene.

He attended Ben Milam Elementary, Washington Junior High and Reagan High School. After graduation he served his country in the United States Army for two years before joining the Houston Police Department on September 14, 1959, graduating from Police Cadet Class No. 22 on December 16, 1959.

Officer DeLoach is survived by his wife JoAnn; daughters five year old Terri Lyn and twenty three month old Tracey Lee; parents Mr. and Mrs. Floyd DeLoach Sr.; sisters Buelah Pittman, Ethel Petersen, Alta Wells and Evelyn Bearden and brother Gilbert Nelson.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 3, 1965 at the Forest Park Funeral Home.

Burial following at the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
