SURFSIDE BEACH - Ruth Sisson Harrelson, 82, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
She was born Jan. 15, 1916, in Charleston, a daughter of the late Edward Ray Sisson and Annie Infinger Sisson.
She grew up in Georgetown and was a graduate of Winyah High School. She was a former active member of Georgetown Presbyterian Church and served as a choir member, Sunday school teach and building committee member.
Mrs. Harrelson was a charter member of Willowbank Garden Club and a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Georgetown Memorial Hospital. She moved to Surfside Beach about 30 years ago and was a member of The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Surfside Beach. She was a Sunday school teacher, member of the choir, altar guild and former officer of the Episcopal Church Women at the church in Surfside Beach.
Survivors include a son, Roy B. ``Ted'' Harrelson Jr. of Georgetown; three daughters, Janette H. Martin of Surfside Beach, Carole Jean H. Pascua of Georgetown and Mary Jane H. Dingle of Loafers Glory, N.C.; a brother, Edward M. Sisson of Bethel, Conn.; a sister, Thelma S. Loflin of Ramseur, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. today at Georgetown chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection. The Rev. Robert W. Caswell and the Rev. James B. Carter Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens in Georgetown.
