Mrs. Susie (Howe) Rust, 78, wife of Dr. Emery Andrew Rust, died at Spencer Municipal Hospital Monday afternoon unexpectedly of a heart ailment.
Susie Rust was born June 6, 1883 to John Howe and Elizabeth Shutt. She graduated from the Marathon High School and attended a business college at Des Moines.
For a time she taught school, later working at the newspaper office in Marathon until her marriage to Dr. Rust. Sept. 6, 1905, in Marathon. Dr. and Mrs. Rust moved to Webb which has been their home ever since.
Funeral will be at the Webb Methodist Church, Thursday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Marion Bloodworth will officiate and burial will be in Garfield Cemetery.
Mrs. Rust had lived at Webb for 56 years.
Besides the widower, Mrs. Rust in survived by a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Berma) Goodrich of Lovitt, Long Island; a son Noel Rust of Webb; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three brothers, Charles R. Howe of Spencer, Martin Howe of Litchfield, MN and Cassius Howe.
