Alicia a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville, retired from county government as an administrative clerk in the Tax Assessor Collector's Office. Alicia's life though, was not defined by her work, but rather by her unwavering faith and devotion to her family.

A loving sister and playful aunt to her numerous nieces and nephews, Alicia was the seventh of eleven children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Leonarda Vera; her brother, Oscar Vera; and 4 sisters, Virginia, Adela, and Marina Vera and Melida V. Ochoa.

Left behind to eternally treasure her memory are her sisters Amanda (Raul) Garcia and Oralia "Yaya" (Jose) Aldrete-Garcia; her brothers, Jesus, Reynaldo, and Sigifredo Vera; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She will be remembered for her love of traveling and her positive attitude. Alicia lived life by example. She was kind to everyone she met and she lovingly cared for her mother and sisters as their health declined.

James Aldrete, David Garcia, Juvencio Garcia, Carlos Vera, Javier Vera, and David Willis were honored to serve as Alicia's pallbearers.
