Mary Linder was born in Elizabethtown,
Kentucky, March 20, 1822, and died at Nelson, October 2, 1905. She emigranted (sic) to Monroe county (sic), Indiana, with her parents at an early age.

Was married to William Stansbury December 27, 1838, being married 67 years. Moved with her husband to Marshall county (sic), Illinois, in 1852 and to Clark county (sic), Iowa, in 1854 and to Nuckolls county (sic), Nebraska, in 1876. Lived in Nelson since 1893. Mrs. Stansbury was the mother of seven children, three boys and four girls. One girl died in infancy and one boy, Samuel, was killed in
battle in the Civil War at fort Smith, Arkansas,
September 1, 1863.

She leaves to mourn their loss a husband, 86 years old, one brother, and one sister out of a family of twelve of which she was the oldest; and also five children: Mrs. Mary E. Thompson of Van Wert, Iowa, J.H. Stansbury now of California, J.N. Stansbury of Edgar, Mrs. Lottie Roberts of Sanger, California, and Mrs. Talitha L. Aikin of Nelson, all of whom except the son in California were present to pay love's tribute to a loving and
self-sacrificing mother.

She leaves 31 grand children and 20 great grandchildren. Mrs. Stansbury joined the Baptist church at the age of thirteen, being baptized by Rev. May of that communion, to which she has been a faithful adherent during her long christian life.

The funeral was held from the Christian church (sic) Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. J.H. Stitt officiated in the absence of the pastor of the church.
