Mrs. Moore departed this life for her Heavenly life on Wednesday, January 16, 2002 at Willis Knighton Medical Center North. She was born September 1, 1924. A native Shreveporter, Mrs. Moore was a faithful member of the Little Union Baptist Church.
Mrs. Moore was the eldest of 14 children and will be remembered for her beautiful, compassionate, loving and encouraging spirit, and for not being ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Mrs. Moore's friends say of her that she was a true and devoted friend, always ready to listen, serve and console.
Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. Fred Moore, Sr.; 12 siblings and two beautiful grandsons.
She is survived and her memory is cherished by her family: youngest sister, Barbara J. Washington, Tracy, CA; children, Billie J. Jinter, Richmond, CA, Lorenzo Powell (Joyce), Shreveport, LA, Pamela Robinson (Ernest), Birmingham, AL, Nita Steele (James), Shreveport, LA, Lennie Rasberry (Jackie), Houston, TX; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was also the step-mother to her beloved husband's eight children and grandmother to their children.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Drs. Timothy Nicholls, Phillip Rozeman, Andrew Marsala, Joseph Farquhar and Basel Kasabali and others who have given their heartfelt care and concern during our hour of need.
Family visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2002 under the direction of Winnfield Funeral Home, 3701 Hollywood Ave.
We have lost a great lady, but we rejoice because we know we will see Mrs. Moore in Heaven some day. Hallelujah!
