New York Oct 25 -- Marion Barnwell, a well known actress, who succeeded Cora Tanner in "The Sporting Duchess" last season died today of pneumonia after an illness of only three days. The body was sent to Washington tonight for interment.

In private life Marion Barnwell was known as Mrs Henry Baldwin. Her husband is the son of a wealthy distiller of Duxbury Mass. Mrs Baldwin, or Marion Barnwell, as she was better know, was the daughter of G W and Virginia Harrison of Washington DC.

Miss Barnwell was formerly well known in this city as Miss Daisy Harrison. She was a striking blond and a very beautiful woman and several years ago was prominent in amateur theatricals. She had quite a romantic secret marriage with a Washington man, from whom she was recently divorced. She then went on the stage and up to the time she was taken ill, she was playing in Richard Mansfield's production of "Cyrano de Bergerac". Her second marriage took place very recently.
