Walter Vernon Snow, retired farmer, died Saturday at Mendocino County Hospital at the age of 71. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Zimmerman Mortuary with Rev. Ralph Fellersen officiating. Burial will be in Ukiah Cemetery. He was born on May 8, 1888 in Sullivan, Illinois. He was a veteran of the Spanish American War. He is survived by his wife, Ruby May (Cross) Snow; his sons, Dale Junior Snow of San Diego, and James Albert Snow and Ottis Vernon Snow, both of Ukiah; his daughter, Dortha May Horne of Ironton, Missouri; his brother, James Milton Snow of Alva, Oklahoma; and seven grandchildren.
